Fusion UK are a company limited by guarantee, who work with students and those who are supporting students such as churches. If you would like to know more about Fusion UK please visit the website below:

The new cohort of students arrive in Preston soon and we would like to welcome them.

We have booked an exhibition stand in the freshers fair on Wednesday 19th September, and would like 2 people to volunteer to go and man this stand for 3 hours. One person for 3 hours in the morning, and one person for 3 hours in the afternoon. Two leaders have already volunteered one for the morning and one for the afternoon, so we just need one more person for morning and one for the afternoon. Please volunteer :)

If you can do this, please contact Jeremy Coates.

We would also like to put on an event for the students near the end of freshers week (so probably around the 22nd or 23rd). We would like your ideas as to what we as a church could do as an event to welcome students to Preston.

Please contact any of the leadership team with ideas and what you can do to help.

Fusion UK give some prayer hints for us to pray for the incoming students. They are below here and it would be great if we could start praying in preparation for their arrival;

Please pray that students will

Find connections. Linking students to local church is the top priority when starting university. Student Link up is available on the Fusion website. Pray that 1000’s of students will be linked to churches this year. (Ephesians 4:16)

Find identity. Who we are in Christ is more important than our A-level results and that students will know that who they are is of greater worth than what they do.
(Romans 8:12-17)

Find community. That God we provide students both with a small community of
Christian friends and a large community of friends who are yet to accept the love of
God (Acts 17:16-28)

Find peace. Amidst the many worries and anxieties that students face, pray that they will turn to God now and over the course of the year for his presence and his peace. (Philippians 4:6-7)
