Walk 6th January

There will be no one organising this walk it is a turn up and see who else turns up affair!
Suggestion is that you meet at Worden Park in Leyland as most people hopefully know where that is.
Sunday 10.30am for a wallk, probably best place to meet is the main car park.
It is a casual arrangement so there maybe just you or twenty folk.
if you turn up, I'd suggest folk wait for 5 mins to see who else arrives and then set off.
Could be muddy!
Enjoy!!!

Request for plastic bottle tops!

A friend of my mum from her church, has asked if we can all collect plastic bottle tops for a lady who has a muscle wasting disease. Apparently she is in need of a mobility scooter and has been told by the company that they will give her one if she can collect her weight in plastic bottle tops. Presumably they then recycle them! Please can you collect all your milk bottle tops (plastic) and water bottle tops and juice and pop bottle tops and any plastic bottle tops basically. Bring them to church and give them to Priscilla and she will get them to the contact person. That's plastic bottle tops please - I have put an ice cream tub by the bin so it reminds me not to put them in the bin but in the tub instead :) There is NO time limit on this, so the collection goes on until she has her weight in plastic :)Thank you I know this will mean a huge amount to this lady :)

So far I think there are 3 of us cycling on the 22nd Sept from Preston to Blackpool.
If you would like to join us, please let Ray know on Sunday this week.
It will be a slow ride, so do not worry if you think that you would not keep up - you will believe me!
Please can people bring a donation this Sunday and we will ask again at the following service too.
Please be as generous as you can and give something towards helping the Mill Bank folk get Broad Band.
We are hoping to raise as much as possible towards their requirements which will be around £500.
A basket will be sent round this Sunday and the next service to gather donations.

Thanks Guys!

Student Freshers Fair Wednesday 19th Sept

Prayer request:
On Wednesday 19th Sept it is the Student Freshers Fair at UCLAN.
PV have a stand at the fair and it will be manned between 10 am and 4 pm.
Thanks to those who have designed the posters, logo and generally been involved :)
Thanks also to folk for letting us use their faces on the posters! (You know who you are) and the posters look great.
Please pray for the folk manning the stand and that the fair will be an opportunity for students to ask questions.
We are looking to hook up more closely with the Christian Union at UCLAN and as a Church we have donated some money to help with the student outreach for the next coming months.
We are hoping to volunteer as a Church to help over the next months with some of the student outreach projects.
Watch this space for details and pray on Wed 19th Sept!
Thanks

Get Fit & Raise Money for a Good Cause - What an offer!!

Ok here is the deal!Mill Bank want Broad Band for their residents. They have no money to pay for it.They are going to do a sponsored bike ride to raise that money.Where do we come in?1. You could ride a bike and get folk to sponsor you - so much per mile or a fixed amount.2. You could sponsor someone.3. You can give a donation. The bike ride will be on Saturday 22nd September time to be confirmed.Route to be confirmed. It will not be a race, so do not worry about being fast or slow - that is not what it's about. We do not know the distance yet but expect it will be around 20 miles which on a bike is probably Preston to Blackpool. Will confirm. It could be a real laugh watching all of us on bikes!!!!!! Plus highly dangerous for most other highway users - believe me I have seen Ray on a bike!!!!! and that was bolted to the floor.......Which can you do - number 1, 2 or 3?Please speak to Ray or Rachel Williams ASAP to let them know which you will do.We will provide sponsor forms.Come on lets get fit and have some laughs together whilst raising some money for a good cause. If you need to borrow a bike post it on the forum and let's see who has one you can borrow.

Any items that you are able to donate will be helping and supporting young families, homeless young people, and single parents. A little goes a long way....so please have a look in your cupboards at home and/or put Millbank on your shopping list this week. Things like: tins, jars, dried foods eg pasta, rice etc, packet mixes, dried milk, toothbrushes, deodorant, nappies, baby food/milk are a good place to start.... Everything will be collected up and delivered to Millbank on the sunday afternoon. Thanks!

Well Saturday was the Mill Bank Family Fun Day!Thanks to those who turned out, despite the rain: Rachel W, Moira, Sarah, Theo, John W, Suzanne, Jeremy & Priscilla. We had Suzanne and Sarah face painting - everyone insight, Rachel had her hand painted with henna, Moira had a tiger face painted on and apparently Theo was left holding the baby!Sadly it was a bit wet, but this did not dampen spirits, lots of children enjoyed the bouncy castle and there was a rather loud DJ who played pass the parcel and some music quizzes. The adults seemed to be quite good a the quizzes!!!!!Next event is likely to be a DVD night, so watch this space for details!

As you are aware, Mill Bank is one of our church projects that we support.Saturday 18th August (this Saturday) they are holding a family fun day.P.V have been asked to help out by doing the following:1. General helping and talking to the ladies, gentlemen and children. If you can't face paint, don't worry. We need people to turn up just for one hour or three. If you have babies or kids with you then bring them too, there will be lots of mum and dad's to talk with and toys for the children to play with. Please think if you can volunteer for one or three hours this Saturday to brighten up their day :)There will be food and drinks and lots of fun!For details of where to come and what time please speak to Rachel Williams or add your name to the forum post that Rachel has posted. We are expecting things to start at about midday and probably finish about 6pm.How about coming along for an hour, if we all did that we would cover the whole day :)
